Mission

Our Mission

Widespread availability of ultrasound technology to the bedside has revolutionized the practice of medicine. Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) strives to become an integral part of the practice of Anesthesiology and all its fields as it answers relevant clinical questions. It provides unparalleled cost- effective bedside information that can alter medical management and is part of the perioperative surgical home. We provide free easily accessible excellent quality educational material. In the content of POCUS, image quality related to Anesthesiology is paramount and this is one of our website's key features.

The material seen in this website is an open source collaborative effort and available to anyone and everywhere. This website is intended to be used two fold. Keeping the anesthesiology resident front and center the material is geared to mastering POCUS while targeting training and level specific competencies. The second aim is to be used as a reference guide for those teachers and learners alike with a passion for self improvement in POCUS.

We have used the American Board of Anesthesiology's Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) content as the basis on which to build the foundational blocks for resident training so that they acquire the necessary knowledge skills to become proficient in POCUS and its applications.
