The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine has partnered with the Center of Ultrasound Education to bring you the first POCUS workshop geared towards preparation for the Objective Structured Clinical Examination. This 6 hour course will provide a hands on review of the following topics:

Goals and Objectives
By the end of the course the Anesthesiology Resident should be able to:

Familiarize themselves with state of the art technology to assist them in their ultrasound journey.

Familiarize the residency program with the educational content offered at showmethepocus.com to maximize the learning experience in POCUS.

Study the educational content that is expected by the American Board of Anesthesiology through the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) with the use of showmethepocus.com. This involves the medical knowledge over all domains required to show evidence of mastery according to the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Use the experience learnt through the program to facilitate their evaluation continuum to achieve a Level 4 under Patient Care 6: Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Anesthesiology Milestones 2.0. Anesthesiology residents will now be evaluated according to the newest milestone requirements and POCUS is considered an important foundational element under patient care.

From L to R. Closest parking lot, the student center at 1488 Laney Walker Blvd and across from the GI center (Professional Building 1) w free entry on the weekends. The main entrance on Pavilion 3 opposite Laney Walker Blvd. Once inside the elevator will get you to the 3rd floor. Take a left to the Center for Ultrasound Education.
